Once upon a time...

The new 101.5 KWVS-LP Malibu was officially born in 2002 when the brand new Pepperdine University Communication Building was opened. The station began as KWBV back in 1979 on Pepperdine University's Malibu campus (also its current location). Starting as a station that dedicated itself to playing only music that came from a Christian label - with changing times, the station had to adapt as well. KWVS currently plays both Christian and secular music.

The 100 watts of power is sent out over a 10-mile radius and has been heard from Calabasas to Santa Monica. Future plans include podcasting and streaming via the internet.

The station prides itself with having a variety of genres from the 50+ DJ's that are a part of it. You'll be able to find the latest hip hop and indie rock - in addition to political, sports, comedy and news talk shows.
